Every state publishes who lobbies for whom. Almost none of it is
comparable across state lines, and much of it is published in ways designed to
be read one record at a time. This puts it in one place.

What each state discloses differs by statute. Half of them never
collect compensation at all, and only a handful record which side a lobbyist
took on a bill.
What this is not. It is not a 50-state compensation
database, because that cannot exist — 17 states do not require lobbyists to
disclose what they are paid, and several more report it only in ranges. Every
figure here is labelled with what the state actually requires.
